As the title implies, this edition is the sequel of the “Music Pocketbook”, and, to some extent, represents the development of the ideas, introduced in that first edition. Actually, the supplements are related more to the methodical aspects – to the interpretation of the new teaching approaches for mastering basic classical guitar skills, which were described in the first collection. Although the main idea – the enrichment of the classical guitar educational repertoire and the support of the Ukrainian culture in general – remained unchanged. Similarly to the first collection, this book contains pieces of different technical and artistic difficulties. These pieces may be used at any level of the music school curriculum, and sometimes even can fit to curricular of music colleges. The first part of the collection contains simple pieces for beginner learners. The Part 2 contains a couple of etudes to develop basic technical skills. These etudes are mostly for beginner learners as well. Pieces for guitar ensembles are presented in the Part 3, there are four duets in this Part and the quintet “Christmas Bells”. The Part 4 contains more complex pieces that can potentially be interesting for more experienced music school learners, or even for students of music colleges. I hope that the “Music Pocketbook II” will find its users among guitar teachers and young musicians. The PDF Sheet Music of the collection contains 60 pages. Fingering is indicated where appropriate. The supporting audio file represents one of the compositions included into the collection – “Pastorale #2”.
