Even terug naar het verleden. Als muzikant, in de vijftiger jaren, bij Carrère, Maxim's en de Palm Beach in Cannes, heb ik het muzikaal klimaat van die jaren, dat door de groten der aarde, zij het sterren van de show business, grote politici of miljardairs, sterk gewaardeerd werd, proberen te herscheppen.Natuurlijk gebruikte ik thema's uit die periode en de typische begleidingsmuziek in twee tijden. Met ietwat heimwee koos ik als slotthema 'I get a kick out of you' van Jerome Kern.

Let's go back to the fifties. As I have played as a musician at such famous places as Carrère and Maxim's in Paris and the Palm Beach in Cannes, I wanted to recreate the musical climate of that time. This was highly appreciated by the high-life of that time: show business stars, politicians and millionaires alike. Of course, I used the most popular tunes of the fifties as well as the accompaniments to the popular musical acts, the latter mostly using two beat measures. With some nostalgia I used the scale of Jerome Kern's 'I get a kick out of you' to conclude.

Faisons un retour en arrière. En souvenir des années cinquante, lorsque j'étais membre des orchestres de Carrère, Maxim's et le Palm Beach de Cannes, j'ai voulu recréer le climat musical de l'époque. Cette musique était fort appréciée de tout le Gotha: stars du Show-bizz, politiciens et milliardaires. Bien sûr, j'ai utilisé des thèmes connus d'alors, sans oublier les meilleures attractions musicales du moment, imagées par les mesures à 2 temps. Pour conclure avec nostalgie, j'ai utilisé la gamme de 'I get a kick out of you' de Jerome Kern.

Gehen wir mal in die Vergangenheit zurück. In den fünfziger Jaren war ich Musiker in den Orchestern von Carrère und Maxim's in Paris, und im Palm Beach Orchester in Cannes. Zum Andenken an diese Jahre, wollte ich das damalige musikalische Klima mal wieder erwecken. Selbtsverständlich habe ich Themen aus dieser Zeit verwendet und besonders die 'Two-Beat Musik'. Mit gewissem Heimweh wählte ich Jerome Kerns 'I get a kick out of you' zum Schlussthema.
