"Music for a Darkened Theatre" is a piece for solo F horn accompanied by 2 metronomes and body percussion which I wrote for the 2020 International Horn Society Composition Contest in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Exploring the widespread sense of the world falling apart which struck as the pandemic first hit the planet and detailing the emotional journey of attempting to triumph and persevere in spite of the challenges brought on by the virus, the piece is structured as three separate musical "scenes" which each depict various emotions relating to the COVID issue. This one is a unique piece for me, and I hope you enjoy it!
