In hetzelfde bigband idioom en als vervolg op Dean Jones’ Hangin’ On heeft Movin’ Up alles wat je wat je van een swingend stuk mag verwachten: opzwepende ritmes, vrolijke klanken van de trompetten en trombones en een gelaagde harmonische textuur van de hoorns en baritons. Er is ook ruimte voor wat eersteklas solowerk in de band. Aan het eind is er nog een onverwachte wending: het tempo gaat naar beneden, het bovenste knoopje open en de stropdas los…. Maar de sfeer is al gezet en het eindigt met uitbundige koperklanken.

The beat just rolls on! Movin' Up! is very much a sequel to Dean Jones’ previous work Hangin' On! There are the usual sounds you'd expect from a swing band piece: vibrant sounding from the trumpets and trombones and then a layered harmonious texture from the horns and baritones. There's also scope for some top class solo work too around the band. There is one twist at the end... the pace is slowed down, the ‘top button and bow tie loosened', but the scene is set and concluded with exciting brass sounds.

Le rythme continue et continue! Movin’Up! est en fait une suite de Hangin’On!, un œuvre précédent de Dean Jones. On entend les mêmes sons que ceux qu’on attend d’une pièce pour swing-band: des sons gais des trompettes et trombones et une structure harmonique en couches des cors et baritons. À la fin il y a une tournure inexpectée: le tempo baisse, on défait la cravate et le premier bouton mais l’ambiance est déjà posée et finit avec des sonneries de cuivres exubérantes.

Der Rhythmus hört nicht auf! Movin' Up! ist eigentlich eine Fortsetzung auf Hangin' On, ein früheres Werk von Dean Jones. Man hört dieselben Klänge, wie man dies von einem Swingbandstück erwarten kann: fröhliche Klänge von den Trompeten und Posaunen und einer mehrschichtigen harmonischen Textur von den Hörnern und Baritons. Am Ende gibt es noch eine unerwartete Wendung: das Tempo wird langsamer, der Knopf am Hals wird geöffnet und die Krawatte fliegt weg, aber die Atmosphäre wurde angegeben und endet mit den ausgelassen Klängen der Blechinstrumenten.
