This short work for solo harpsichord explores the juxtaposition of seemingly unrelated musical material. Several motivic ideas are stated and repeated in differing orders, thus changing their context. Therefore the structure is rather 'mosaic-like', just as different ideas, and coloured tiles, can reoccur in different places/patterns in a mosaic work of art. The piece is highly accessible and is appropriate for most standards of harpsichordist, including students and advanced players.
