Moonsong, a violin and viola duet, is dedicated to women who have been silenced throughout history. The violin and the viola in this duet symbolize the voices of both women today and the echos of the women who came before us.
This is a haunting and emotional work, exploring one woman asking the moon how it can continue to turn around the world each night while witnessing so many centuries of pain.
Seeing history repeat itself and her rights in jeopardy, this woman is caught between the feeling that nothing she does really matters and the possibility that she may need to raise her voice for the sake of future women. She grieves and stands with her ancestors in solidarity.
