Released as a single seven and a half years after featuring on the the album of the same name, "Moondance" is a song by Van Morrison and the title on his third studio (released in 1970). It is the song the that Van Morrison plays most frequently in concert.
The original features piano, guitar, saxophones, flute and drums, with Van Morrison providing the vocals, it is a song about autumn, Van Morrison’s favourite season. It is used in the films An American Werewolf in London and August Rush, the UK sitcom Peep Show, was included as a song on Desert Island Discs on BBC Radio 4 by George Clooney and Maggie Aderin-Pocock, and features on the album Michael Parkinson: My Life In Music.
