A magical piece which at first glance is about its title character, but which becomes, as it unfolds, intensely personal to each singer and listener. Each movement is a vignette of sorts -either an excerpt from a letter, a journal, or book, that describes some experience in that person's life - linked together by a philosophical statement in the final movement.
