Easy arrangement for three flutes. This is a minuet arrangement of the original Orpheus and Dance of the Blessed Spirits. It is a trio for young flute artists. Flute 3 was arranged to be the steady heartbeat of the piece to keep the rhythm moving along. If you're looking for a piece for your flute students, beginning and beginning-Intermediate students they might like to try this piece out. Christoph Willibald Von Gluck wrote Orpheus which is also known as "Orfeo ed Euridice" to reform the opera world as everyone knew it by taking away the extravagant ornamentation and by concentrating more on the natural extraordinary expression of emotion. In order to make the music help to support the story of the music and also to support the characters more closely within the story they are telling. He used the myth of Orpheus as a vehicle to make way for a new style of opera, which he wanted to portray as being more authentic and meaningful. Gluck wanted to move more closely to a more emotionally and expressive style thereby leaving behind all the complexities of the classical operas as they were known to be. Gluck wanted the music to be closely combined with the dramatic movement on stage in the efforts to enhance and support the emotions of the characters and what they were going through on stage rather than featuring vocal display. If you are looking for a simply beautiful flute trio for your flute students please give this one a try and see how much your flute students might love this piece! Happy Fluting!
