This elegant sounding arrangement seems simple on the surface, but is a wonderful way to teach hand independence. At the end of the first verse of the carol, a counter-melody begins just as the main melody is ending. Then in the second half, the left hand answers the right hand in simple counterpoint.
When my youngest daughter was turning eight, she was fixated on the American Girl Dolls. This melody is featured in one of the movies, "Samantha: An American Girl Holiday" and it quickly became her favorite Christmas carol. This was her birthday present that year.
