This edition is excellent of a fine and beautiful classical work that is not overexposed. Don't know why the sample page is slightly blurry on this site but the actual music is clear and easy-to-read.

This is a great work of the young Puccini. But the edition, though widely available and cheap, is riddled with errors and quite unclear. There are spacing issues at times which are confusing for performers- even such things as a diminuendo which should be a crescendo to ff (end of Et incarnatus) Conductors need to check elsewhere if you are using this one.

No, it's not as good as the Verdi Req., but, it's work with lots of excellent music, so, why not give the people something different for a change. People have loved the Gratias whenever I've sung it.

What a wonderful work this is. I recommend it to any medium sized choir. Sopranos need to be competent as they start of high A flat several times. some intricate rhythms that need to be mastered. Although it is an Oratorio is contains snatches of Puccini opera styles.
