This arrangement of Memories by Maroon 5 is for the early beginner piano student. After teaching piano for many years, I've found that students want to play popular songs they like (and why not?!). However, the 'easy piano' music that is available to them is, in fact, usually beyond their capabilities - particularly in the first year or two of lessons. These arrangements are my attempt to remedy that. I will continue to add more titles soon! If you have a suggestion of a title, please let me know!
This piece can be played as a solo or with the optional accompaniment part. The piece uses only quarter, half, dotted half and whole notes. The student also keeps their hands in 'Middle C' position (RH/LH first fingers share Middle C). With two exceptions where the RH fifth finger reaches to the A above Middle C, the fingers remain in position.
The arrangement is written in 4/4 so that it's easy for the student to count while learning it. However, once they have mastered it, counting in a slower 2/2 may be helpful - it's up to you.
