Composed by Traditional Namibian. Arranged by Lee Smith. This edition: pdf. Chamber, Folk, Instructional, Religious, Spiritual. 5 pages. Lee Smith #1415009. Published by Lee Smith (A0.1855400).A traditional Namibian folk song originating from the Kavango people, it is a traditional mourning song or folk song from the Kavango region in Northern Namibia, often sung in the Kwangali language. With the beautifully sad melody, the weeping and mourning is evident from the opening chords of this moving prayer. Arranged here for violin ensemble, this arrangement is aimed at young players learning the intricacies of traditional African music. The first violin has the melody, and the subsequent sections each have a part written for their skill level, with fourth violin having the easiest parts.
