Informative and Clear!
Wow, am I SO enthusiastic about Piano Students and Musicians learning the STORY behind the Names, and this book has it all! I got this with the sole reason being... NOBODY and I mean nobody... (that I could find) had a clear and concise Method Type Book for Music History with pictures, time frames, and reliable sources telling of Music Composers and the Music History surrounding their lives. I now have this book and read it constantly for when my Students (or myself) are working on pieces by any of these composers. I absolutely love this book. I would say Book 1 has the more Classic composers. Mostly Male composers like J.S. Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Robert Schumann, Liszt, Debussy, Joplin, Ravel Kabalevsky etc... I looked at Book 2 and that seems to have an updated version with more variety in ethnicity and gender. I can't wait for book 2 to come in!
