Published by BKJ Publications (A0.1685451).An instrumental Glen Campbell medley for a small band: These three songs are iconic Glen Campbell and work very well in a medley. The required instruments are 2 Flutes, Clarinet, Alto-Soprano Sax (there is one part that is easy to split between 2 players if you don't have a sax player who doubles), Trumpet, 2 Violins (they can either be two single players or two sections of multiple players) and a rhythm section The rhythm section uses 2 acoustic guitars, 1 electric gutar and an optional pedal-steel part. If you have a player nearby, it is a wonderful addition to the country sound of the songs, but it can be left out without detriment to the performance. Finally, there are piano, synth/organ, electric bass, and drum kit parts. The wind parts and most of the rhythm parts are about level 4-5. The electric and one of the acoustic guitar parts do require a more advanced player. I have used a faculty or parent guest player if the students can't work up the parts. I even hired a pro pedal-steel player, and it was great. His presence pulled up the level of the whole rhythm section!
The medley runs about 5 minutes and your musicians and their audience will love this remembrance of one of the great solo and studio player.
PLEASE NOTE: The SCORE is formatted for 11x17 (tabloid) paper, and the PARTS are all set for Letter size. High Schoolers should be able to do this without too much work.
