Composed by David Neff. This edition: pdf, streaming. Christian, Religious, Sacred. Score. 2 pages. David Neff #1293839. Published by David Neff (A0.1732118).
Here is a soft adagio movement based on S. S. Wesley's famous hymn tune, "Aurelia." The tune is usually paired with Samuel Stone's text, "The Church's One Foundation."
This composer opted for the slow and soft approach to the tune despite the temptation to do something loud and pompous. "Loud and pompous" would be a surrender to ecclesiastical triumphalism, which is denial of the reality of the church's history.
This short organ piece is easy to play and is usable in almost any church context.
This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global
self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
