Guido d’Arezzo (991-1050) was een Italiaanse muziektheoreticus. Hij ontwikkelde nieuwe muziekonderwijs-technieken zoals de notenbalk en het gebruik van ut-re-mi-fa-so-la (ut werd later do). In dit stuk wordt de originele monodie als organum- thema gepresenteerd, en vervolgens in 3 moderne en swingende variaties uitgewerkt, om te eindigen in een spetterende finale. Na de première in 2015 werd het stuk drastisch gereviseerd om in 2016 in de definitieve vorm uitgevoerd te worden.

Guido d'Arezzo(992 - 1050) was an Italian music theorist of the Medieval era. He developed new techniques for teaching, such as staff notation and the use of ut–re–mi–fa–so–la (later, ut became do). The original monophonic melody is written in organum in the first part, then developed in 3 modern variations, to end with a passionate finale. After the première in 2015, the piece was revised drastically, and was performed in its final edition in 2016.

Guido d'Arezzo (991-1050) était un théoricien de musique Italien. Il a développé des techniques d’éducation musicale comme la portée et l’utilisation de ut-ré-mi-fa-so-la (plus tard, ut devenait do). Dans ce morceau, la monodie d’origine est d’abord présentée en organum, puis développée en trois variations modernes pleines de swing, pour aboutir en une finale époustouflante. Après la première en 2015, la pièce a été révisée radicalement pour être exécutée dans sa forme définitive en 2016.

Guido von Arezzo (991-1050) war ein italienischer Musiktheoretiker. Er entwickelte u.a. die Neumen-Notenschrift und die Solmisations-Stufen do-re-mi-fa-so-la. Im vorliegenden Stück wird die originale Monodie zunächst als Organum-Thema präsentiert, dann in 3 modernen und swingenden Variationen verarbeitet um schließlich in einer spritzigen Fanfare zu enden. Nach der Uraufführung 2015 wurde das Stück revidiert und liegt nun in seiner definitiven Form vor.
