Camille Saint-Saëns had a lifetime love for Algeria which he visited for the first time in 1875 and where he died in 1921. In 1880 he wrote his 'Suite Algérienne'. It's a work written in four movements of which the last movement, 'Marche Militaire Française' became very popular on its own as well.
