I used pizzicato at the beginning, bringing the volume down to a minimum (maybe important when programming this piece). Then, adding little by little, passing the melody around a little, the piece builds and develops like the original.
Although I arranged it with a string quartet in mind, it could be played by a string orchestra--all the brass and woodwind parts are covered.
My string playing experience is limited by a hobbyist experience, and only on violin. Hundreds of hours of score study are no substitute for actual playing time! So, comments and questions are welcome!
