Major Tom ist ein Lied des deutschen Sängers Peter Schilling. Es wurde im November 1982 in Europa als Major Tom (völlig losgelöst) und im September 1983 in englischer Sprache unter dem Namen Major Tom (Coming Home) auch in den USA veröffentlicht. Es wurde zum Kultklassiker und erreichte internationale Popularität. Mit diesem Lied gilt Peter Schilling als einer der erfolgreichsten Interpreten der Neuen Deutschen Welle.

In dieser Boomwhacker-Version mussten einige Zwischenspiele gekürzt und das Tempo vereinheitlicht werden. Für die Begleitung braucht ihr die Boomwhacker c, d, e, g, a - für die Melodie die Töne a, h, c, d, e. Für die Begleitung empfehlen sich jeweils zwei gleiche Boomwhacker, die nacheinander geschlagen werden, um den Achtelrhythmus auch für längere Zeit durchzuhalten.
