De sfeer wordt rustiger en lyrischer in het breed uitgesponnen adagio dat meer innerlijke gevoelens vertolkt, maar toch naar het avontuurlijke verwijst. Herhalingen van diverse thema’s voeren naar een indrukwekkende climax.
This beautiful overture by the Portuguese composer Afonso Alvares starts with a broad andante that soon turns into a partly rhythmical partly singing allegro evoking the world of thrilling adventures in grandiose settings. The atmosphere calms down and becomes more lyrical in the spinned out adagio that describes inner feelings and yet refers from time to time to the suggested adventures. Repetition of several themes leads to an impressive climax.
Cette belle ouverture du compositeur portugais Afonso Alves débute par un andante solennel qui cède bientôt la place à un allegro tantôt rythmique tantôt chantant évoquant le monde des films d'aventure dans un décor composé de somptueux paysages. L'atmospère se calme et prend un aspect lyrique dans un adagio étendu qui exprime des sentiments intérieurs, tout en r’férant à l áspect aventureux. Des répétions de différents thèmes mènent vers un imposant point culminant.
Diese schöne Ouvertüre von dem portugiesischen Komponisten Afonso Alvares fängt an mit einem breiten Andante aber schnell gibt es dann ein teils rhythmisches teils melodisches Allegro das spannende Abenteuer in imponierenden Landschaften darstellt. Die Atmosphäre beruhight sich und wird allmählich lyrischer im breiten Adagio das eher innerliche Gefühle ausdrückt aber das ab und zu auch auf die Abenteurer hinweist. Einen Wiederholung der verschiedenen Themen führt zu der eindrucksvollen Klimax.
