Commissioned by Todd Wilson for Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Cleveland, Ohio, this setting has exactly what you'd think it would: a stunning organ part and challenging choral writing. Although the Anglican lineage of these texts is apparent in the declamation of the text (largely homophonic) and the way the organ functions (commenting here, exclaiming there,) there is much more creativity here. A kaleidoscope of moods, rhythms, and colors heightens the meaning and elevates the emotions. Not to be missed.
