Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis by Bruce Neswick 4-Part - Sheet Music

By Bruce Neswick

Bruce Neswick's original setting of the evening canticles is a rare blend of tradition and innovation. The"Magnificat" opens with the customary practice of soprano and alto voices (here in duet), while the "Nunc Dimittis" begins with both tenor and bass in unison. Strong, forward rhythmic motion characterizes both the choral and organ parts of the "Magnificat" while an undulating rhythm is used to give a sense of repose to the "Nunc Dimittis".
