What a lovely gem!
Found this piece on imslp and it's become a fast new favorite. As instrumental madrigals of this era go (comparing it for instance to the more well-known one of Gaubert), the Aubert is a brief one-movement work which moves the pastorale theme about in various shades of harmonic settings, with a middle contrasting section. I've also shared this piece with a high school student as one of her repertoire selections for an audition in the early spring: she loves it too!
