Like Chopin, Gillock wrote 24 preludes featuring all major and minor keys. The newly engraved 50th anniversary edition contains the composer's original notes, as well as a recording performed by Henry Doskey, who studied piano with Gillock while the Lyric Preludes were being written in the late 1950s. Friends for more than 35 years, Gillock designated Doskey as the authoritative interpreter, and judge of authenticity of stylistic treatment of his music. 36 pages.

Superb!
This fine collection of Preludes is a must have for any piano student and teacher. Very accessible for the intermediate player and fit beautifully under the fingers. There's a large array of contrasting pieces, from the velocity of Humming Bird, to the gentle A Faded Letter, each proves a pianistic challenge whilst being fun and satisfying to play.

Lovely Preludes
These are beautiful pieces and not very difficult for an adult who has been playing for over two years. Each is unique and has suggestions on interpretation. Also, the notation is easy to read.These Preludes do not sound like standard pedagogic pieces but are unique and melodic.

Great Pieces
A lovely new edition of these wonderful pieces that students just love! An essential for the advanceing student. Nicer format than the old, small-size volume, and the background information is helpful also. Very fine performances on the CD. Bravo!
