“Lovefool” was written by the Swedish rock band the Cardigans for their 3rd album ‘First Band on the Moon’ (1996). Persson says of her lyrics: it’s “quite a sad love song; the meaning of it quite pathetic, really.” She had envisioned it more in the style of a bossa nova, yet it evolved in the studio to a “moderate rock” tempo. This arrangement restores her original concept with a Latin bossa nova feel, and is scored for a 4-part SATB ensemble with piano accompaniment. Performance time: 3:45+-.
