This chart pays tribute to the style of Neal Hefti's "Lil' Darlin' and is dedicated to his lovely wife. While the score shows the featured instrument as Trumpet or Flugelhorn 2, parts include an Alternate Trombone 2 part for the trombone feature, which is of course how Tony recorded it. Tony had written the chart so that the voicings behind solos would easily work without the trombone 2 part; and then trumpet 2 would then sit out most of the tune, playing only non-chords and no cues.
