It was composed by the Cuban bass player Israel "Cachao" Lopez. This version for a saxophone quartet starts with a classical style. Later, the melody changes at letter A with a Calipso rhythm, an original genre from the Caribbean coasts. The piece takes again its classical music character at letter J and finishes with a calipso rhythm. The use of percussion is optional.
