This work was written to be performed by the students of the Oatridge International Guitar Summer School and Festival, Scotland, in 1999. Four well-known tunes are quoted (two of them only briefly) in the Capriccio anarchico – N. Paganini: Caprice No. 24; Harry Dacre: Daisy Bell (Bicycle built for Two); O du Lieber Augustin (Austrian Traditional); Kenneth Alford: Colonel Bogey.
