This dazzling suite portrays the side of the armed forces that is oftenoverlooked - the vital role they play as peacekeepers throughout theworld. Each of the four movements shows an aspect of military life- the precision of a military parade, the splendour of the officers' ball,the sadness of remembering those who have lost their lives and thehope that someday there will be peace throughout the world. This trulycompelling work will make a great addition to any concert.
De belangrijkste taak van het leger is tegenwoordig niet meer het veroveren van nieuw grondgebied, maar het beschermen van de mensenrechten en het herstellen en bewaren van de vrede over de hele wereld. In Military Parade, TheOfficers’ Ball, Hymn to Memories en Ode to Peace brengt André Waignein hulde aan de moed, zelfopoffering en bescheidenheid van de soldaten van vandaag de dag.
Little Suite for Peace ist den Verdiensten der Männer und Frauen gewidmet, die sich in der Armee überall auf der Welt für die Erhaltung von Frieden, Sicherheit und Menschenrechten einsetzen. Eine stolze, prachtvolle Militärparade, ein glänzender Offiziersball, eine Hymne an die gefallenen Soldaten und schließlich eine Vision der Armee der Zukunft zeichnen ein thematisch und musikalisch abgerundetes Bild der zahlreichen Facetten des Militärs unserer Zeit.
Little Suite for Peace (Petite suite pour la Paix) a été composée l’occasion des festivités du 50ème anniversaire de l’École Militaire de la Logistique de Tournai en Belgique.La mission essentielle du soldat de notre temps ne consiste plus conquérir de nouveaux territoires, mais faire respecter les droits de l’homme, la liberté et plus souvent encore rétablir et maintenir la paix aux quatre coins du monde. travers les quatre mouvements de cette composition (La parade militaire - Le bal des officiers - L’hymne au souvenir - Ode la Paix), André Waignein rend hommage au courage, au dévouement et l’humilité des soldats des temps modernes.
