Here's the popular Linus & Lucy theme from "Peanuts" arranged for beginning string orchestra! Rhythms, key, and range have been arranged specifically with first-year string orchestra students in mind. This flexible arrangement includes both high and low violin melody parts (high - 1, low - 3), harmony (violin 2 and viola 1), and optional low viola melody (viola 2). Each string part has the option for a "solo" in the B section, which could be individual players, sections, or the whole orchestra! Performers may play the written small notes for the "solo" part, or simply rest where the small notes are for the easier version. This is a great way to feature your star students and/or sections! There is also a piano part (optional) and optional percussion to add to the jazz feel (snare drum with brushes & bass drum, and second percussion part for cabasa, guiro, or whatever other percussion parts you would like to add). A great addition to your beginning orchestra library!
