Christ, Surround Me”, a lorica — prayer of protection from the Irish monastic tradition — by progressive music maker Richard Bruxvoort Colligan. I wrote this as my city, Minneapolis, was being traumatized by the cruel, unconstitutional acts of anti-immigration federal force. ICE and Border Patrol had already murdered Renee Good; a few days after I finished drafting this piece, Alex Pretti was murdered. This is a two-part (duet) version of the original SATB choral piece, with piano accompaniment and chords. I arranged this with grade-school and youth choirs in mind.
