Part of the huge publicity it gained was because of Michael traveling with Ed Sheeran as his opening act. The song has had two billion plus streams on Spotify , three billion plus views on YouTube and a featured in a Super Bowl advert. The song was nominated for the British Single of the Year in 2014 and won Best Folk/Singer-Songwriter Song in the Independent Music Awards and Ivor Novello Awards' Most Performed Work in the same year.
This arrangment includes the melody (written in single line and for guitar with conventional notation and guitar tablature), together with the bass line and both full and simplified versions of the accompaniment. Fingering and all performance directions are included to make performance as easy and satisfying as possible. This has been one of the most popular pieces my students have learned, and is arranged here to appeal to all learning levels.
