Lush Example of Les Six Compositions

This is a beautiful work, not terribly difficult, and a fine example of the period and French literature. Very approachable for an intermediate to advanced player to polish and perform. Easy for the audience to enjoy as well.

    Les Chemins de l'Amour

A gorgeous 1940 waltz, in the European tradition, which sets the Anouilh poem Pathways to Love to music. Poulenc wrote it for Yvonne Printemps, and the vocal line goes up only to F. Piano part is of medium difficulty. It alternates between D minor and D major.

    Les Chemins de L'amour

Jacky Terasson and his trio (French jazzmen) play this Poulenc's composition in a jazz style ... simply brilliant, if you like jazz that is.
