Bought this for my daughter
My daughter wants to learn nothing but riffs. I want her to learn riffs but also some theory. This book bridges the divide. An excellent resource!

A GOOD LEARNING TOOL
As a guitar instructor for many years, I've found this book to be a useful tool in helping students learn things like Moveable Power Chords, Ties, Repeats, Sixteenth notes, etc. It is cool because the lessons are short and use brief excerpts of TAB from Metallica tunes, ie, an 8-bar example of the Verse of FADE TO BLACK is used to teach Open Position Chords. Although the book draws upon many, many Metallica tunes for each lesson, one doesn't need to know every song to appreciate the lesson. The fact that every lesson has that distinguishable hard rock sound is enough to keep guitar students interested. Please keep in mind this is a learning tool and not a Song book. Fans should look elsewhere if they want complete TABS for the band's tunes.

i ought this book and it sucked ###. only showed some easy ways to hold the guitar and chords. the songs? 2-15 seconds long mostly only 3 tones...

buy the actual metallica books!!
if you ask me, you definitely need to buy the actual metallica tablature books to fully learn songs this book only shows some riffs that are great and all but dont show the complete song that evry1 out here is looking for if ur a real metallica fan
