By Bill Withers. By Bill Withers. Arranged by Homco/Crinion. This edition: pdf. Blues, Folk, Graduation, R & B, Soul. 7 pages. Homco/Crinion #1036628. Published by Homco/Crinion (A0.1457598).Bill Withers wrote the song "Lean on Me" in 1972 after he had moved to Los Angeles from a coal-mining town in West Virginia. He found himself missing the strong community of his old home town. The song has become a beloved anthem for several generations - and has been included in films, concerts, marches, sing-alongs, school assemblies, graduations and even presidential inaugurations. It is a little R&B, a lot of Soul, and even a bit of American Folk music. There was a String Section in the original recording - so it is only fitting that we tender this String Trio Arrangement.
