I composed this short piece to evoke the feeling of a warm Saturday, with its blue skies and light winds, and the scent of autumn leaves and fresh pine in the air.
This is a gentle duet for two instruments, moving at a slow, persistent pace. The piece begins with flowing, lyrical lines over modal harmonies. The middle section adds a melodic and rhythmic variation and deeper harmonies before returning to the opening mood. It invites expressive phrasing and interplay between the two voices playing in the same clef.
