Solid Vocal Support

Engaging Material for Students!
This La La Land collection is fantastic for my students. The 'Easy Piano' arrangements make the popular tunes by Justin Hurwitz very accessible, perfect for early-intermediate levels. So Much Fun to Play!
I absolutely love playing through this La La Land songbook! As an adult learner, the 'Easy Piano' arrangements are perfect – challenging enough to feel rewarding but totally achievable. I can finally play my favorite songs from the movie like 'City of Stars' and 'A Lovely Night.' It sounds fantastic and is so enjoyable to relax with after work.

Practical for Quick Gigs
Good collection of La La Land tunes. The 'Easy Piano/Vocal/Guitar' format with chord symbols makes it quick to learn for last-minute requests. While not as complex as the originals, the arrangements are recognizable and get the job done efficiently. Handy to have in the book for a lounge or event setting.

Missing pages
I have ordered this twice and each time it has come with pages out of order or missing. Great arrangements and easy to play but somebody has a problem (pages are numbered right but the song will end after one page or never continue. City of Start and Lovely Waste of a Night - the two favorites). Big disappointment. I'd order a replacement but...

Messed up music
Has anyone noticed that the music has been printed wrong so there will be one page of a song then a totally different song and the first song isn't anywhere else in the book? The pages are all numbered normally but the music on at least 3 songs is really messed up. Super disappointed since about 1/3 of the book is unplayable.

La La Land
This is a pretty good book for being from a soundtrack; fair quantity of songs and the arrangements are nicely done. Keep in mind that the music was composed for the movie and that Mr. Hurwitz does have a different style of writing. As a result, many of his pieces tend to be incoherent (ie. the middle of Epilogue) and/or have incoherent passages. Also, many pieces are much too long but that would be due to the corresponding scene in the movie. In contrast, Mr. Hurwitz does a great job with the main title song (Oscar winner) and with the theme song of the two main characters.
