This ancient Greek prayer asking for God's mercy has been selected for the Bruce Rogers Choral Series. The music is written largely in a homophonic style with shifts in harmony functioning like building blocks of sound. A great festival piece, it will be popular with high school and college choirs.

Very moving piece
Recently performed this piece with my Master Chorale. It's a beautiful piece for a larger choir, lots of compliments from the audience afterwards as well. Can't imagine it being sung by a small group of inexperienced singers.

Completely Captivating!
I am an instrumentalist rather than a choral enthusiast, but I heard this piece performed live at a college choral festival and it was absolutely breathtaking. The Chamber Singers always do a great job, but this particular piece was special and stood out from most of the other songs that night. There was such a suave yet intense energy about the sound that was produced during this song. I don't know how difficult the piece is to execute, but I can't imagine it being anymore challenging than most festival/concert works for an advanced high school or college choir. However, I would have a hard time hearing this work being sung by a small ensemble. If you're looking for something captivating and moving, than look no further! It's a timeless modernization of an ancient text.
