"Kool Breeze" is a vigorous breath of fresh air in the literature for woodwinds. It's bucolic sounding motifs and the technic of "hocquet", creating a playful interaction between flute, clarinet and the bassoon are the basic characteristics of the piece. Rapid runs and modal scales lend to enhance metaphorically the sensation of wind. The work also explores the possible combinations of the trio to form timbres, harmonies and rhythmic polyphonies, while also distinguishing the coloristic individuality of each instrument.
