Zur Produktion
Die vorliegende CD bildet zusammen mit DCD026 eine Gesamteinspielung der XII Klaviersonaten von Christian Gottlob Neefe und der drei Kurfürsten-Sonaten von Ludwig van Beethoven. Neefe hat seine Klaviersonaten ausdrücklich für das Clavichord bestimmt. Zur Gegenüberstellung der Intention des Komponisten und der heutigen Aufführungspraxis hat Oliver Drechsel je eine CD auf einem historischen Clavichord und einem modernen Konzertflügel eingespielt. Zum direkten Vergleich wurden Beethovens erste Kurfürsten-Sonate und die Sonaten VIII und X von Neefe auf beiden Instrumenten eingespielt.
