Originally released in 1994 this song rose to fame when it was rereleased a year later to be included in the Batman Forever film soundtrack by it’s writer Seal. This arrangement has been transcribed from my brass quintet arrangement and keeps the idea that everyone gets a bit of the spotlight.
With shifting compound time signatures care needs to be taken with the rhythms in this slow waltz like feel.
A great piece to master and play at a celebration like a wedding, on the bandstand, or in a concert - “Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey. Ooh, the more I get of you, stranger it feels, yeah. Now that your rose is in bloom, a light hits the gloom on the grey.”.
