Kelvingrove is a Scottish melody dating back to the 18th Century. This arrangement retains much of the character of that famous melody but injects a sense of syncopation and jazz harmony. It has an opening fanfare of lush chords and then hurls itself into a quick off beat interpretation of the melody. Following this is a beautiful reflective middle movement that combines the Kelvingrove melody with a stunning counter melody. The finale brings back the main melody in a 'hymn' like fashion, with thick texture and sparkling arpeggiation bringing a close to this popular arrangment that is always well received from organists and audiences.
