A happy-sounding piano arrangement of the traditional African American hymn “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” written in the gospel style. This piano arrangement has three sections, each with its distinct register and characteristic. The first section is played in the middle register with strong chords on the off-beats. The second section is played in a higher register and features right hand fill-ins between melodic phrases. As we approach the third section, you’ll head a sequencing chord progression modulating from the home key of B flat major to the new key of A flat major – yes, I modulated DOWN a step! Usually I go up :) Finally, this last section presents a ticker texture, with both hands playing octaves and jumping across the keyboard.
