The "Jungle Pilots" are flying again and are now taking to the controls for the "Call It Anything" label (veraBra). This time the journey took them to the other side of the world: "Downunder" on a live tour in Australia. As usual, they fascinate here with their breakneck sound collages, driving rhythms, crazy improvisations and a lot of sax appeal. Alois Kott (bass), Peter Eisold (drums), Evert Brettschneider (guitar) and Matthias Schubert (sax) are no strangers to the scene. They play and have played in bands with Albert Mangelsdorff/Wolfgang Dauner, the Contact Trio and the Blue Box. "Jungle Pilots" is a project that finds its strength above all in the live sector. And here they touch on all kinds of stylistic directions and are therefore never completely at home in jazz, rock, funk or punk. And that is exactly what makes their new record so adventurous and worth listening to.
