It is an ideal song to introduce improvisation using the Blues scales which are written on many of the parts along with my written solos. They are intermediate in ability level and tailored to the range of the instruments.
To make the lead line approachable, this version shows an adapted brass/saxophone line as the triplet flourish from the original Kool and the Gang recording is quite difficult.
I have transcribed that too and added separate parts for those with a more advanced technique.
