Judex from the Oratorio Mors et Vita by Charles Francois Gounod Concert Band - Sheet Music

By Charles Francois Gounod

The oratorio 'Mors et Vita' (Death and Life) is the continuation of 'The Redemption' and was the second of a proposed trilogy of oratorios written on commission by Charles Gounod for the Birmingham Festival in 1885. 'Mors et Vita' is probably best known by 'Judex' (The Judge). It is an instrumental number in the second part and became one of the most effective pieces of orchestration in the oratorio.
