By Garritan Orchestra. Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, Henry van Dyke. Arranged by Ron Flintjer. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score and Parts. 9 pages. Ron Flintjer #851619. Published by Ron Flintjer (A0.1258367)."The Hymn of Joy" (often called "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee") is a poem written by Henry van Dyke in 1907 with the intention of musically setting it to the famous "Ode to Joy" melody of the final movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's final symphony, Symphony No. 9.
This is a perfect piece to be performed by your church string orchestra. To accommodate lack of instrumentation, if that should be, there is 1st violin, 2nd violins and violas are doubled, as are the cello and string bass. Even though composed for beginner easy level, this has a full orchestra sound, interesting harmonies and a beautiful sacred touch.
