The Joropo is the national dance of Venezuela. In this Neo-Classical composition my challenge was to suggest the different instruments that make the actual folk ensemble, all within the four strings of the solo violin. This composition is more than just a brilliant encore for a violinist, and it also has musical substance. Noted New York City violinist Laura Jean Goldberg, who is on the Faculty of the Juilliard School, has edited the score.
