All notes in the PRIMO are played singly with the hands in one position centered around middle C and then played one octave higher. The PRIMO plays the melody for the first two verses and then for the third verse, the SECONDO plays the melody while the PRIMO adds bell-like harmony. The first verse is flowing and legato, but then promptly transitions to a more upbeat rhythm with staccato for the last two verses.
